Necessary Replacement Parts:

Necessary Replacement Tools:

Note: Above tools are included for FREE when this replacement battery is purchased from MPFproducts.com.

Step 1

  • Power off your iPhone 4.
  • Check to see which type of screws your iPhone 4 has so that the appropriate screwdriver is used. It could have phillips screws or the pentalobe screws. Remove the (2) screws located on both sides of the dock connector with the appropriate screwdriver. Place the screws in a safe location for reassembly later.

Step 2

  • Push the rear cover upwards toward the top end of the iPhone. It should move up about 2mm.

Step 3

  • Grasp/Pinch the rear case with your fingers and remove it from the front of the iPhone. You could also use the suction cup for this step if preferred. Be careful not to break or damage the plastic clips that are on the rear cover during this step.

Step 4

  • Remove the phillips screw (or screws, some devices have 2) which secures the battery connector to the board.

Step 5

  • Using one of the plastic opening tools, gently pry up on the battery connector to release it from its socket on the board. Only pry upwards on the top and bottom of the connector and take caution to not damage it.
  • Remove the metal piece covering the antenna connector and if necessary (some have reported they did not need to remove anything other than the metal piece) remove the antenna piece as well taking careful note of how it was installed.

Step 6

  • Pull gently on the plastic pull tab to lift the battery and remove from your iPhone. Do not remove the plastic tab, just the battery.
  • In some cases you may need to use a plastic opening tool to loosen the adhesive underneath the battery if you cannot free it with the plastic tab alone.

Once the old battery is removed, replace with your:

(pictured below) and follow steps in reverse order to reassemble.

PLEASE NOTE: Before reconnecting the battery connector be sure the contact clip is in the proper position next to the battery connector. You may also want to consider cleaning the metal to metal contacts with a de-greaser (such as Windex) to remove any possible oils left by your fingers as they have been know to cause potential wireless interference.
